Kylie Morgan shared the sweet moment her fiancé — and his daughter — popped the question.
Morgan, 30, believed she was filming an interview about her album until she heard fiancé Alek Halverson’s 2-year-old daughter Ava. Morgan said she was “very confused,” until she realized what was happening. “Then it hit me.”
The video shared on Instagram showed Morgan’s emotional reaction as Halverson, 31, and Ava approached her with the ring. Ava carried it and her father opened the box as he got down on one knee in front of the singer-songwriter. He told her, “you’ve been the biggest blessing in our lives from the day you stepped in, and we hope that you’ll stick around for a little while. …So Ava and I have a question. I don’t wanna say ‘will you marry me.’ Will you marry us?”
Ava took the ring and put it on Morgan’s finger as the country star tearfully said “thank you, baby. Yes. Yes. Every day, all day, every day.”
Morgan told PEOPLE when she and Halverson announced the engagement earlier this week, “in that moment, everything changed. Alek took my hand, with Ava right there beside them, and asked me to marry not only him but Ava, too. It was the easiest yes I've ever said. ...The second I saw Ava come around the corner holding the ring box, I completely lost it — in the best way. It was the most overwhelming, intimate and beautiful surprise.”
