Carrie Underwood wore a stunning, red wine-colored dress on American Idol on Monday night (April 27).
“Are you loving the California songs tonight? Dressed to match the wine list!” Underwood captioned a selfie from the judges’ panel on Instagram. She followed up with another post later in the evening. That photo offered a full-body look at Underwood’s floor-length gown with a dramatic split in the skirt, revealing the fit52 star’s sculpted leg and perfectly-matched shoes.
The 2005 American Idol champion returned for her second consecutive season as a judge alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie this year. American Idol contestants covered history-making superstar Taylor Swift’s eras-spanning songs on Monday evening, including a few from her debut country album. Underwood stirred anticipation for the theme when she posted a throwback photo with Swift and fellow former Idol contestant Kellie Pickler, who competed on the show’s fifth season in 2006.
American Idol airs on ABC on Monday nights from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT. It’s available to stream the next day on Hulu.
