Carly Pearce flashes “a knowing smirk and cheeky charm,” in the music video she premiered to celebrate her birthday on Friday (April 24).

Pearce, 36, released “You Can Have Him” as she stirs eagerness for her fifth studio record. She wrote the teasing, sassy song with Tofer Brown, Carter Faith and Lauren Hungate, and produced it with Ben West. The Grammy-winning country star is “delightfully unbothered” by her partner with a straying gaze, the music video's YouTube description points out. Pearce sends a sassy message to the next girl: “If you can take him, you can have him.” Pearce shared that the video features her band, and “this one’s been a favorite for a while now.”

“If he’s looking at you that way with a look on his face/ That says ‘I could whisk you away,’ go get at him/ If you can take him, you can have him/ If you make him want to flirt in your denim mini skirt/ And he’s working up the nerve/ If it’s looking like he loves you, you should ask him/ If you can take him, you can have him.”

“You Can Have Him” is Pearce’s latest release, following “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay,” a steamy duet with country star Riley Green, plus “Church Girl” and “Dream Come True.” Pearce confirmed on a recent episode of Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast that her fifth studio album is “done,” though she hasn’t announced the release date as of publication time. Pearce said the record reconnects her with early musical inspirations, including “Loretta Lynn meets The Judds meets Alison Krauss.” She said West captured “the essence of who I am,” and “to me, this feels like 29: Part Two. …I’m evolving.”
