Ella Langley depicts an on-again, off-again relationship (and the desire to remain in the good times) in her new ballad that appears on the Nobody Wants This soundtrack. The show’s second season and the album arrived on Thursday (October 23).

Langley teamed up with songwriters Jordan Schmidt, Jon Nite and Zach Kale to bring “This Version Of Us” to life. The star-studded, genre-spanning Season 2 soundtrack also includes songs by Selena Gomez, FINNEAS, Alessia Cara, Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves and other artists. Netflix states that the show “follows the relationship of unlikely couple Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody), an outspoken (and agnostic) podcaster and a kindhearted rabbi who fall in love despite the forces working against them. In Season 2, their relationship deepens as the duo attempts to blend their lives together.”

“This Version Of Us” follows “Choosin’ Texas,” Langley’s highly-anticipated heartbreak ballad she wrote with Miranda Lambert (who performed with Langley at the 60th ACM Awards earlier this year), Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor. The singer-songwriter finds herself in a love triangle as she tells a story of a cowboy moving on with someone else (“he’s choosin’ Texas, I can tell”). That song arrived earlier this month.
