Thomas Rhett chronicled his love story with his wife, Lauren Akins, in the sweet “Chapter 10” music video he premiered on Wednesday afternoon (October 22).
“Chapter 10” is one of 26 tracks that appears on the extended edition of About A Woman, Rhett’s seventh studio record that serves as a tribute to his wife. The visual opens with Rhett telling Akins’ father, “I have loved your daughter since she was 15, and I was 15. And ever since we’ve been dating, I’ve wanted to marry her from day one.” Throughout the song, Rhett shares home videos of moments he and his wife have shared throughout their lives. Rhett said on Wednesday that he “can’t explain how special these memories are to me.”
Rhett and Akins met in elementary school. Though they dated briefly in high school, they parted ways and opted to remain friends until they rekindled their romance years later. Rhett proposed to Akins about six months after they began dating again, and the pair tied the knot in October 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee. Rhett and Akins are parents to four daughters, Willa Gray (9), Ada James (7), Lennon Love (5) and Lillie Carolina (3). They announced in August — with lyric updates to Rhett’s 2017 single, “Life Changes” — that Akins is pregnant with Baby No. 5.
