The statistics are still mind blowing...18 years later...
September 11, 2001 in numbers:
The total of people who died in the 9/11 attacks was 2,996, including the 19 highjackers
In and near the World Trade Center: 2,606
In the air: 246
During the attack on the Pentagon: 125 military personnel and civilians died
These numbers are hard to digest to this day. I can remember everything so clearly about that day. What I did that morning, what I wore, what I was doing when the news broke on tv, trying to work and concentrate when it felt like the world was going mad around us.
We will never, ever forget.
