Undercover Billionaire

Everyone in Wolf Country (and beyond) seems to be talking about Undercover Billionaire that debuted last night on the Discovery Channel. Admittedly, I wasn't going to watch because 10:00 is my bedtime... but I felt compelled to tune. Partly because I'm always curious to see how Erie is portrayed on television (ie Evil Genius, when President Trump came to town, etc). And partly because I know some of the people the film crew ran into while they were here and I wanted to see how they were portrayed.

The premise is this: Glenn Stearns, a self-made billionaire from Florida, has 90 days to build a million-dollar business from the ground up. He only has $100 in his pocket, but Glenn is determined to recreate his rags-to-riches success and prove the American Dream is still alive... in Erie.

There were some beautiful shots of our beautiful city last night. But I often found the need to remind myself that it was a TV show. And maybe I need to understand the definition of "documentary" better, because most of the show was obviously staged.

SPOILER ALERT: If you didn't watch it... I'm not going to share much more than that. lol I certainly don't want to spoil it. But hit up social media and you'll find the gamete of opinions on the debut.

Will I sacrifice my sleep to watch more? Probably. Did you tune in? What are your thoughts?
