The Sound Reset Challenge, Week 2: Meditation with Amy Brown & Dan Harris

Welcome to Week Two of The Sound Reset Challenge, a four-week journey hosted by Amy Brown and inspired by her conversation with Dan Harris. This challenge, brought to you by Audible, is about resetting your habits, reducing stress, and building a sustainable practice that supports your 2026 goals. Last week, we started by noticing our ‘monkey mind.’ This week, we move from noticing to training.

Dan stresses that meditation isn’t about ‘clearing your mind.’ It’s about training your attention: focus on the breath for a few seconds, get distracted (you will), and then begin again. That’s the rep. Those reps change the brain over time, and your reactivity in daily life. Start small; even one minute counts.

Your Week Two Challenge: Try Meditation Aim for 5–10 minutes daily (or start with 1–2 minutes and build up):

  1. Find a quiet spot. Sit or lie down with a straight spine.
  2. Set a timer.
  3. Feel the breath going in and out.
  4. When thoughts pull you away, notice it and gently return to the breath.

If you already have a practice, use this week to go a little deeper, perhaps add one minute, or try a walking meditation.
