Gabby Barrett stirred anticipation for the next chapter in her career.

The country singer-songwriter shared a selfie in front of a microphone on her Instagram story on Wednesday (March 4). Barrett confirmed, “yes, new music is coming soon,” she wrote on her story. She added, “possibly a bigger body of work toward the end of this year… album 3? 👀”

Barrett, who celebrates her 26th birthday on Thursday (March 5), most recently released the extended edition of her first-ever holiday album, Carols and Candlelight. Before that, she debuted “Ain’t Supposed To Be,” a romantic ballad, and “The Easy Part,” a heartbreak single she described as “a distant cousin to ‘I Hope,’” her 2019 breakout anthem that appeared on her debut record.

Barrett released her first album, Goldmine, in 2020, following her 2018 run on American Idol. The deluxe edition followed in 2021. Goldmine included “I Hope” (plus the duet version with Charlie Puth), “Footprints On The Moon,” “The Good Ones,” “Pick Me Up” and more. Barrett followed Goldmine with her sophomore studio album in February 2024. The 14-track Chapter & Verse record included “Cowboy Back,” “Dance Like No One’s Watching,” “Glory Days,” “Growin’ Up Raising You” and other highlights. Barrett hasn’t shared any specific details — including release dates — about new music as of publication time on Thursday morning. Find her music on iHeartRadio here
