Luke Grimes said his 18-month-old son is “hilarious.”

The Yellowstone and Marshals star, 42, spoke about his son while he caught up with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Tuesday evening (March 2). Fallon noted that “last time you were here, we were talking about a new baby.” Grimes and wife Bianca Rodrigues Grimes welcomed their son, Baby No. 1, in 2024. Rodrigues Grimes announced her son’s arrival on October 9, 2024. They did not publicly shared his exact birthday or name. Grimes said his baby is a toddler now, and shared a sweet story about a day he brought his son to work.

“It is fun. He’s hilarious right now,” Grimes said. “I took him to my set the other day. My job. You know, I wanted to introduce him to everybody. Very excited for that. And he just kept laughing at my cowboy hat the entire time, making me feel very uncool about something I’m supposed to feel really cool about. …It started with him just pointing and laughing. And then now when he’s at home, he’ll find any big, funny thing and put it on his head, and start singing the ‘Dada song.’”

Grimes shared the “Dada song” with the Tonight Show audience, and Fallon joined in; however, Grimes said he doesn’t play his son “a lot of baby music.” Instead, the 18-month-old listens to Bob Marley, The Beatles, Queen and more. Grimes said “he can sing, dude. It’s awesome.”

He might follow in his father’s footsteps. Grimes went on to speak with Fallon about his album that’s set to release next month (and the significance of the title, Red Bird), the Marshals series premiere, why he never thought he’d reprise his role as Kayce Dutton after Yellowstone ended, and more. Watch the interview below.

Marshals premiered on Sunday (March 1). It airs on Sundays from 8 to 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The show will also be available live and on-demand on Paramount+ for premium subscribers, and on-demand for Paramount+ subscribers the day after the episode airs, according to CBS.
