Bunnie Xo admitted she doesn’t want others to call herself and Jelly Roll “couple goals.”

The Dumb Blonde podcast host and author of bestselling memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic caught up with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday (February 25). Bunnie Xo reflected on her relationship with her husband, three-time Grammy winner Jelly Roll, and opened up about why she doesn’t want people to call their relationship a “goal.”

Bunnie Xo said she was getting over a breakup when she met Jelly Roll in 2015, and she’d decided, “I’m not going to date anybody. I don’t need anyone.” Then, she met “this cute, chubby-cheeked Southern man who just drew me in.” Bunnie Xo said the attraction was instant, but they were like two “trains” about to collide on the same track. She and Jelly Roll quickly, spontaneously eloped in a Las Vegas chapel. She remembered the “heartbreaking” moment she found out about the Beautifully Broken star’s affair seven years ago, and how they both reflected inward and went to therapy. Bunnie Xo said “I have been given so many second chances in my life. I truly believe that man deserved a second chance, and I gave it to him and it is the best decision I ever made. Will he get a third? Absolutely [expletive] not. …Let’s just make that clear.”

“I don’t like when people are like, ‘oh my God, you guys are couple goals,’ or ‘you guys are perfect.’ And I’m like, ‘you guys don’t know the hell we went through to get here,’” Bunnie Xo said. “I think everybody thinks it’s cute to say those phrases, and I know they mean it with good intention. But at the same time, I want them to know the lore behind where we got because I don’t ever want people to compare themselves to us and think that it’s unattainable because it’s not. We’ve been through the freaking trenches together.” Find the full chat with Clarkson here.

Now, Bunnie Xo, 46, and Jelly Roll, 41, are hoping to welcome twins via surrogate. She shared that they “have a surrogate, the sweetest woman ever, and soon I’ll be starting my IVF stims. …I’ve waited this long to have kids with someone I knew would be a great father—and to be able to make sure they have the best life. …With how much IVF has advanced over the years and with the help of the most unselfish woman willing to carry twins for us, we’ll be able to make our baby dreams come true.” Bunnie Xo said in a recent E! News interview that IVF is a “hard journey. …My hat goes off to any woman who has to do IVF. They are warriors. I’m so proud of you. You know, I just — I can’t wait to share with the world our journey, but it’s going to be a while before I open up.”
