Riley Green is set to make his acting debut.
The Don’t Mind If I Do artist will play Garrett on Marshals, a Western drama that serves as a spinoff to the hit series Yellowstone. The Instagram account for the original CBS series confirmed in a post on Thursday (February 19): “It’s official— Riley Green is making his acting debut on [Marshals]! Can’t wait for you to meet Garrett!”
Luke Grimes stars in Marshals (formerly titled Y: Marshals), reprising the role of Yellowstone character Kayce Dutton. The show focuses on the ex-Navy SEAL as he “leaves Yellowstone Ranch to join U.S. Marshals, using his cowboy and military skills to fight crime in Montana while dealing with family ties and the mental toll of law enforcement,” per IMDb. The cast also includes Logan Marshall-Green, Gil Birmingham, Brecken Merrill, Ash Santos, Arielle Kebbel and others.
“I’m so excited to be joining the cast of Marshals. Being on set with my buddy Luke Grimes made the experience even more memorable,” Green said in a statement via Variety. The publication reports that Green’s character is a former Navy SEAL who aims to “put the demons of his past to rest” as he connects with friends played by Grimes and Marshall-Green at the ranch. “This is my first go around in the acting space and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to this world.”
Green recently hinted that “it is true that I might be doing some acting,” during a press event earlier this month in Nashville, Tennessee. Though he didn’t confirm his then-unannounced debut role, Green acknowledged “it’s something that I’ve been interested in for a while, and obviously been talked about for little bit. …You know, you look at what shows like Yellowstone have done for the Western lifestyle… It’s definitely something I’m interested in, and we may or may not see something like that.”
Green is part of the star-studded lineup of the 2026 iHeartCountry Festival, along with Luke Bryan, Kane Brown, Parker McCollum, Shaboozey, Dylan Scott, Russell Dickerson, Gretchen Wilson, Chase Matthew and Lauren Alaina. iHeartRadio's Bobby Bones is returning as the event’s host. The show will take place on May 2 at Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Tickets to the show are available as of January 23. Fans across the country will be able to catch all the action as the 2026 iHeartCountry Festival will be broadcast live across iHeartCountry stations nationwide and the free iHeartRadio app on Saturday, May 2nd at 8pm ET/5pm PT (7pm CT).
Marshals will premiere on Sunday, March 1, airing from 8 to 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The show will also be available live and on-demand on Paramount+ for premium subscribers, and on-demand for Paramount+ subscribers the day after the episode airs, according to CBS.
