Gabby Barrett offered a “deeply personal” glimpse into her life when she caught up with iHeartRadio’s Brooke Taylor on a new episode of The Upload.
Barrett, 25, met her husband, Cade Foehner, while they competed on American Idol in 2018. They got married the following year, and have since welcomed three children: Baylah May, who turned 5 last month, Augustine Boone, who turned 3 in October 2025, and Ivy Josephine, who turned 2 on Tuesday (February 17). Barrett kicked off a “meteoric rise” after her run on American Idol with her breakout single, “I Hope,” and its collaborative version with Charlie Puth. She’s since become known for “The Good Ones,” “Pick Me Up,” “Glory Days,” “The Easy Part” and more.
During her conversation with Taylor on the faith-based podcast, Barrett “opens up about how her true spiritual transformation didn’t begin on a stage — but in her childhood bedroom, reading the book of Romans after her now-husband Cade gifted her a Bible. What felt familiar growing up suddenly became alive, sparking a faith that would reshape her marriage, motherhood, and career.
“Gabby shares candidly about building a God-centered marriage in an industry that often prioritizes self, choosing intentionality over image, and why honoring Christ influences everything from her music to how she dresses to how she raises her three young children,” Taylor describes. “This episode is a refreshing reminder that success isn’t the foundation, surrender is. And that faith isn’t inherited, it’s awakened.” Find the full episode on iHeartRadio here.
