Jelly Roll released a heartfelt ballad that he recently teased while celebrating his wife’s birthday.

The three-time Grammy winner debuted “Thorns” on Friday (February 13). He wrote the song with Rocky Block, Ryan Vojtesak, Ilsey Juber and Taylor Delmar Phillips. Jelly Roll shared a sneak peek of “Thorns” in a birthday tribute to Bunnie Xo on January 22.

The Dumb Blonde podcast host is “a woman who spends her entire life celebrating everyone else. A woman who spends her every day encouraging and inspiring... A woman who stands up for and speaks for what’s right, even when it’s unpopular... A woman who is fearless... A woman who is bold... today we celebrate a woman that lifts other women up,” Jelly Roll wrote in a caption on Instagram. “Meeting this woman was arguably the most life-changing moment I ever had,” he said later. “Thank you for everything you’ve done for me and our little family, you truly are the rock of this household-you are the single human that turns this house into a home... I love you endlessly.”

Jelly Roll met his wife in 2015. Bunnie Xo, who will release her book this month, previously spoke about the couple’s relationship story. She and Jelly Roll tied the knot in a spontaneous wedding in Las Vegas in 2016, and returned to the same chapel to renew their vows in 2023.
