Livy captivated the American Idol judges with her powerful audition.
The server from Shinnston, West Virginia hilariously introduced herself during the Idol auditions episode that aired on Monday evening (February 9). Livy, 22, told the judges that her mom “is about to have a heart attack if she sees” Luke Bryan. “She thinks you’re the sexiest man alive! …She said on the way over, she said, ‘is Luke married?’ I said ‘yes, Mom, he’s married.’ She said ‘he ain’t gonna be married by the time I get in there.’”
“Oh!” Carrie Underwood exclaimed. “Oh boy!” Lionel Richie reached.
Bryan, while snacking on peanuts, called “security! Security!” He segued, “what are you going to sing today?”
Livy opted to perform “Love Wins,” a hopeful, emotional ballad that Underwood released on her Cry Pretty record in 2018: “I, I believe you and me are sisters and brothers/ And I, I believe we're made to be here for each other/ And we'll never fall if we walk hand in hand/ Put a world that seems broken together again/ Yeah I, I believe in the end love wins.” Underwood and the other judges listened intently throughout Livy’s soulful rendition. American Idol airs on ABC on Monday nights from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT. It’s available to stream the next day on Hulu.
