Chase Matthew covered “one of the all-time biggest” hits by Florida Georgia Line when he took the stage during a show in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Matthew said in a clip shared by Phoenix-based KNIX, “I say let’s take a video of us singing one of the all-time biggest Florida Georgia Line songs and send it to them. What do you think?” He went on to lead the crowd in a performance of “Cruise,” which was the duo’s breakout single in 2012. KNIX wrote in the caption on Instagram, “[Chase Matthew], help us with the [Florida Georgia Line] reunion!”

Florida Georgia Line, made up of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, also became known for “This Is How We Roll,” “Stay,” “Round Here,” “H.O.L.Y.,” “Get Tour Shine On” and more throughout their career. Kelley and Hubbard announced in February 2022 that they were “taking a break” as a duo to pursue solo projects. Since then, however, fans have hoped for an FGL reunion. Hubbard shared photos with Kelley at the 59th CMA Awards, and Kelley took part in viral social media trends with nods to his duo partner. He shared that he’d been on a hike with Hubbard, setting a reel to KATO’s 2010 song, “Turn the Lights Off.” That song transitions to “Cruise” as a viral glimpse of Jon Hamm in Your Friends & Neighbors appeared on screen. Kelley also took part in the nostalgic 2016 trend, sharing memories that are a decade old this year. He posted a photo with Hubbard and Tim McGraw, who teamed up with the duo on “May We All.” Kelley and Hubbard have not, however, confirmed an FGL reunion in the works.
