Zach Top made history as the first winner of the inaugural Best Traditional Country Album category at the 2026 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 1).

Top, 28, won for Ain’t In It For My Health, his 15-track studio album that arrived in August 2025. The record included “Guitar,” “Good Times & Tan Lines,” “When You See Me” and more, all spotlighting the Sunnyside, Washington-born country artist’s signature, classic country style.

“I almost didn’t made it up here in time. I’m winded! I was sitting all the way back up there,” Top said when he reached the stage. “This is insane. I feel like I watched the Grammys as a little kid, and looked like superheroes up on TV. So, to be here and be a little part of the whole thing is insane. I want to thank my Lord and Savior, and my family,” he said, going on to thank his manager, his girlfriend, his road band and others. “This is absolutely insane. So thankful. Thanks for letting me be here. This is amazing.”

Other country stars who took home awards on Sunday evening include Chris Stapleton, who won the Best Country Solo Performance category for “Bad As I Used To Be” from the F1 movie soundtrack; Jelly Roll and Shaboozey in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for “Amen;” Tyler Childers in the Best Country Song” category for “Bitin’ List;” Jelly Roll in the Best Contemporary Country Music Album category for Beautifully Broken; and Jelly Roll in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song category for “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake. Reba McEntire delivered her first-ever performance on the Grammy Awards stage, performing a moving In Memoriam tribute with Brandy Clark and Lukas Nelson.
