If you were hoping to see Carrie Underwood on tour this year, you may just have to wait a little bit longer — the country music superstar confirmed she won't be hitting the road for a tour in 2026.

The announcement came during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where Underwood appeared alongside fellow American Idol judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie to promote the show's upcoming 24th season. When host Jimmy Kimmel asked about her touring plans, Underwood's response was brief but clear: "No! Nah. I'll go see them," she said, gesturing to her fellow judges.

While Underwood didn't elaborate on her reasons for not touring, she did hint at prioritizing family life in Nashville during the interview. "I got lunches to make and breakfast to make, and I got to get up before my kids do or it's going to be bad," she explained.

Underwood has been busy in recent years as she wrapped up her three-year "Reflection" Las Vegas residency in April 2025 and completed her "Denim & Rhinestones Tour" in early 2023. She hasn't released a full album since Denim & Rhinestones in 2022, which could explain the lack of tour plans.

Despite not touring, Underwood continues to cement her legacy in country music. She was recently named the highest-selling female country artist of all time, with career sales reportedly exceeding 95 million records.

But, fans can still see Underwood on television during the new season of American Idol, which premieres Monday, January 26th at 8pm ET/7pm CT on ABC. This season brings significant format changes, including moving Hollywood Week to Nashville.
