Russell Dickerson’s wife had the best response to his unreleased romantic ballad.
Dickerson shared a sneak peek of “The Roses” on Tuesday (January 13). The Tennessee-born singer-songwriter surprised his wife, Kailey Dickerson, with a bouquet of roses as she sat with a blanket draped around her shoulders, sitting in front of a fire watching the sunset. Dickerson kissed her hand and turned back to the camera. He swirled a glass of red wine before hilariously gulping it down, and Kailey laughed when she noticed the empty glass. She wrote in the comments on Instagram, “the way I knew that wine had been challenged 😂”
“It just hit me, girl, what I was born to do/ You be the roses/ I’ll be the vase/ You be the starry night and the spotlight/ And girl, I’ll be the frame/ You be the California cab/ I’ll be the glass you’re poured into/ Girl I’m fine, long as I’m holding you.”
Dickerson captioned the clip, “nothing says romance like a sunset wine glass challenge!!!” He hasn’t confirmed any additional details, including a release date, as of publication time on Wednesday (January 14).
Dickerson is nominated in the Favorite TikTok Dance category, a socially voted category, at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, returning this spring to Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. He’s up for the award with his viral “Happen To Me” dance.
