Wynonna Judd shared a tribute to her late mother and The Judds duo partner, Naomi Judd, on her birthday on Sunday (January 11). The late legend would have turned 80.
Wynonna kissed her mother on the cheek in the photo she posted on Instagram. The powerhouse singer-songwriter, 61, said Naomi “would have been 80 today. I still feel her everywhere,” she wrote in her caption. “She has 2 beautiful GREAT granddaughters we could be celebrating with. Why aren’t you here? I love you, Mom. 🤍”
The post has since garnered hundreds of comments from fans and fellow country artists, including Carly Pearce, Tigirlily Gold, Margo Price, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and more. Another post on The Judds’ Instagram account adds that Naomi’s “voice, her strength, and her light continue to inspire. Forever loved, forever missed.”
Naomi Judd died on April 30, 2022 in Leipers Fork, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. She was 76. Throughout her career with Wynonna, Naomi released unforgettable hit singles throughout the 1980s that defined the sound of the genre. The legendary mother-daughter duo and members of the Country Music Hall of Fame became known for “Why Not Me,” “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days),” “Mama He’s Crazy,” “Love Is Alive,” “Girls Night Out,” “Love Can Build A Bridge” and much more.
