Blake Shelton broke his silence on recent rumors that he and his wife, Gwen Stefani, are splitting up.

Divorce speculation has swirled online for months, particularly because both artists maintain busy work schedules and public sightings together have been relatively rare. The country superstar said during a recent co-hosting gig that he “noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up. They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’ And then, a week later, a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store ... ‘Oh, they’re back together again!’

“Another week goes by and we’re not seen at the grocery store ... ‘They’re divorcing.’ I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘That looks so real.’ But I know I don’t even own that shirt or, ‘Whose car is that?’” Shelton said. He added that he’s skeptical of “anything anymore” on the internet.

Shelton, 49, and Stefani, 56, met when they were both coaches on The Voice in 2014. Stefani admitted in a previous interview with PEOPLE that she nearly didn’t date Shelton. She said “it was chaos” as the two of them went through their respective divorces, but now, she believes “God putting Blake in my life was just that miracle.” Shelton and Stefani started dating in 2015, and Shelton popped the question in 2020. They got married in July 2021 on Shelton’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Shelton said in a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, “if I could have a repeat of these past 10 years [together, that] would be perfect.”
