Darius Rucker marked 17 years since the release of his first-ever country album.
The Hootie & the Blowfish star shared photos of Learn to Live’s cover art and the CD. The 12-track project arrived on September 16, 2008, and included “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” “It Won’t Be Like This for Long,” “Alright” and more. Rucker said in a post on Instagram on Tuesday (September 16) that “these songs changed my life,” and thanked longtime fans for listening to the CD when it first arrived nearly two decades ago.
Many commenters reflected on their own memories of listening to Learn to Live, including fellow country star Charles Kelley of Lady A. Kelley said Learn to Live was “such a killer debut country record,” and he “can’t believe it was (released) 17 years ago.”
Rucker has since become known for “Wagon Wheel,” “Come Back Song,” “For The First Time,” “Beers And Sunshine,” “If I Told You,” “Homegrown Honey,” “Fires Don’t Start Themselves” and more throughout his career as a solo artist. The South Carolina-born singer-songwriter’s most recent studio album was Carolyn’s Boy (2023), a 14-track album that paid tribute to the singer’s late mother. Find Rucker’s music on iHeartRadio here.
