Gwen Stefani said “it was chaos” when she met Blake Shelton.
Stefani and Shelton met on the set of The Voice in 2014, and they confirmed their new relationship the following year. They got married in a stunning ceremony on Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch in July 2021; however, in a new interview, Stefani admitted she wasn’t sure she was ready for that relationship. She and Shelton had recently gone through their respective divorces at the time.
“We had just met, and it was chaos. Both of our lives were in complete turmoil, all over the ground. Nothing could save us at that point,” Stefani said in an interview with PEOPLE. “There was a point where I was like, 'I can't even talk to you. This is insane. I already have enough problems. This is not happening anymore. We're not going to text or nothing.'" Now, Stefani said “God putting Blake in my life was just that miracle.”
Shelton has also spoken highly of his relationship with his wife, including how he’s embraced his role as a stepfather to her three sons, Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10. Shelton previously said in an Entertainment Tonight interview, “if I could have a repeat of these past 10 years [together, that] would be perfect.”
