Saints WR Chris Olave Breaks Silence After Hospitalization

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave broke his silence after being hospitalized for a concussion during Sunday's (November 3) road game against the Carolina Panthers.

"Thank God Preciate all the love & prayers Ima be aight," Olave wrote on his X account.

The Saints also confirmed that Olave was "discharged" and would be traveling back with the team from Charlotte Sunday night in a post shared on their public relations X account.

"WR Chris Olave has been discharged from the hospital and will return to New Orleans with the team later this evening," the Saints wrote.

Olave, 24, attempted to catch a high pass from quarterback Derek Carr before being hit by Panthers cornerback Chau Smith-Wade across the middle of the field during the first quarter. The game paused for several minutes as a motionless Olave received medical attention before being carted off the field.

Olave recorded one reception for 13 yards prior to the injury. The former Ohio State standout was the Saints' leading receiver entering Sunday's game with 31 receptions for 387 yards and one touchdown in seven games.

Olave has spent his entire career with the Saints since being selected No. 11 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. The California native is coming off a season in which he recorded career-best totals for receptions (87), receiving yards (1,123), receiving touchdowns (5), games started (11) and games played (16) in 2023.
