Chris Young shared a shirtless photo revealing two bruises following an incident leading to his arrest in a bar in Nashville, Tennessee. The country artist appeared to have one bruise on the back of his arm and another on his back. He wrote in text appearing over the video that it was way “too close to my spine.”

“Just saying…..,” he wrote in his caption on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon (January 30), setting his post to “Don’t Stand So Close To Me,” by The Police.

Young, 38, has been cleared of all charges. He was accused of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and assault on an officer. Alcoholic Beverage Commission agents arrested Young at Dawg House Saloon while they were conducting compliance checks the evening of Monday, January 22. Though an agent reported that Young “struck me on the shoulder,” surveillance footage surfaced later in the week and raised questions about the events of that evening. Some videos captured Young, who is 6’4’’, appearing to be pushed backward by the agent, falling to the ground.

Young’s attorney, Bill Ramsey, said in a statement that the arrest “was wrong and he never should have been arrested and charged in the first place.” He said last week that the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission “needs” to drop the charges against the country artist and apologize.

Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk announced in a statement on Friday evening (January 26): “Regarding the Chris Young incident — After review of all the evidence in this case, the Office of the District Attorney has determined that these charges will be dismissed.”

Young, who recently responded to “trolls” on TikTok when he shared surveillance footage, recently announced that his next full-length album is set to release this spring. Young Love & Saturday Nights is due on March 22.
