"Guess who's back in the studio?!" they wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.
While the duo is hard at work on new music, they did more recently take a moment to reflect on how far they've come. In an Instagram posted on Friday (November 22), FGL shared a picture taken nine years ago in Mt. Dora, Florida. "This is way back, it was T and I's first weekend mini tour with a show in Georgia and a couple in Florida," the duo's Brian Kelley wrote in the caption. "Mom and dad and some family friends made up the majority of the crowd as we opened up this particular night with our acoustic set. TIME WARP!"
He continues, "This week @tylerhubbard and I have started recording our 5th album!!! WILD how time flys! What a dang ride the past 9 years have been!!!! This pic is a reminder that you can do anything you set your hearts and minds to and that you gotta DREAM BIG, Work your butt off, have an amazing team and fans, and allow God to lead your path!!! Beyond grateful to make music for a living!"
Florida Georgia Line released their debut album, Here's To The Good Times in 2012, which was followed up with Anything Goes in 2014 and Dig Your Roots in 2016. Their most recent album, Can't Say I Ain't Country, was released in February earlier this year. "Simple" was the first single released from the album, followed by "Talk It Out Of You." FGL's current single is "Blessings."
Although specific details on the upcoming new album have not yet been revealed, we do know that currently, they have eight songs down. "Can’t wait for y’all to hear this new music we’ve been making," Kelley says, adding, "we are 8 songs in already and can’t wait to share our vision with everyone!"
Stay tuned for more to come from Florida Georgia Line!
