Kacey Musgraves, Billy Ray Cyrus, Lil Nas X Take Home Early CMA Awards

The CMA Awards don't start officially until Wednesday night (November 13), but a couple winners have already been announced.

Kacey Musgraves took home the award, Video of the Year for "Rainbow," while Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X took home the award for Musical Event of the Year. The winners were revealed earlier this morning on Good Morning America by Maddie & Tae.

Musgraves' "Rainbow" video beat out Blake Shelton's "God's Country," Dierks Bentley's "Burning Man" with Brothers Osborne, Maren Morris' "Girl," and Eric Church's "Some Of It."

For Musical Event of the Year, Cyrus and Lil Nas X won among fellow nominees including Morris and Brothers Osborne on "All My Favorite People," Brooks & Dunn with Luke Combs on "Brand New Man," Garth Brooks and Shelton's "Dive Bar," and Brantley Gilbert and Lindsay Ell's "What Happens In A Small Town."

Musgraves is expected to take the stage during the CMA Awards to perform alongside her musical hero, Willie Nelson. Additional performers for the evening including Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton and Pink, Lady Antebellum and more.

The CMA Awards will be hosted by Carrie Underwood alongside Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. These ladies will join together with other iconic female country singers for a "historic, not-to-be-missed" performance to kick off the night.

The 2019 CMA Awards will focus on female artists, something that Underwood was the driving force behind.

"When we started talking about the CMAs this year, thinking about what theme we might have... I definitely was kind of pushing for a tribute to females in country music," she says in a recent interview.

Tune in for country music's historically big night broadcasting live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 13 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
